FEA, CFD, and Thermal Analysis with SimScale
This is an introductory course to the theory and practice of Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) which covers the fields of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Thermal Analysis.
Each section begins with 5 video lectures covering fundamental theory, modelling and simulation approaches, and an in-depth example done using SimScale - the cloud-based simulation platform.
Following the video lectures, you will find dedicated simulation Exercises. These exercises have been developed to help you build on the knowledge that you gained during the video lectures an improve your understanding of engineering simulation using the SimScale Platform.
This course is hosted on-demand, meaning that you can work through the lectures at your own pace.
- How to use the cloud-based SimScale Platform for engineering design and analysis
- Theory of FEA, CFD, and Thermal Analysis
- How to perform a linear static analysis
- How to perform a incompressible fluid flow analysis
- How to perform a convective heat transfer analysis
There is no prior knowledge or additional software required to participate in this course.

SimScale is a computer-aided engineering (CAE) software product based on cloud computing. SimScale was developed by SimScale GmbH and supports FEA, CFD, and Thermal Analyses. The backend of the platform uses open source codes.
