Course Overview

The aim of this course is to show you different theoretical and practical applications of CFD with a firm focus on getting accurate simulation results, not just pretty pictures. In this 3-module course you will learn about concepts related to wall modelling, result validation, and multiphase flows. Students who complete the video lectures, step-by-step exercises, and quizzes to 100% will receive a special SimScale Certificate of Completion.

Course Format

Each session consists of:

  • A 60-minute video lecture
  • A step-by-step exercise to help you put what you have learned in the lecture directly into practice
  • A 3-question quiz to cement your knowledge

Session 1: Wall Modelling for CFD

In the first session, we will talk about different approaches for wall modelling, which will help you to accurately predict drag and flow separations.

Session 2: Numerics and Result Validation

During the second session, you will learn about numerics and results validation. We will show you how to predict the accuracy of your simulation and how to improve numerical settings to get your results faster.

Session 3: Multiphase Flows

The final session will be focused on the analysis of multiphase flow systems. We will talk about the main differences when compared to single phase simulation and show you how to quickly prepare a multiphase simulation.

Final Quiz

The final 10-question quiz includes a broad range of questions from all 3 sessions.

Certificate of Completion

Students who watch all video lectures, complete all step-by-step tutorials, and score at least a 7/10 on the Final Quiz will receive a special SimScale Certificate of Completion which you can add to your resume or course profile on Linked in.
